`The Largest Gender Equality Lesson consists of 1100 people, and was attempted by Round Table Nepal in Birgunj, Nepal, on 11 November 2019.’

It was a fleeting thought which turned out into a great idea and opportunity to create awareness about our movement ’Freedom through Education’ which was conceived by our National President Tr. Saurabh Kedia who dreamt about getting RT Nepal into Guinness way back in September 2018. The record was attempted to highlight and educate students with regard to gender inequality issues that exist in today’s society.

The record attempt was made on 11 November 2019 at the Kadambari Academy, Birgunj, wherein, 1100 students from class 2 to 10 participated in the 35 minutes long interactive lesson conducted by Cr. Ayushi Kedia (Grooming Tales/KRLC- 7). The event was organised by BRT-3 under the leadership of Chairman Tr. Aroha Mittal and Convenors Tr. Nishant Chachan, Tr. Hemant Baid, Tr. Sushant Chachan with the help of other BRT-3 members and their Spouses. Mr. Deepak Tulsyan (Chairman) & Mr. Rakesh Mishra (Vice Principal) of Kadambari Academy played a big hand in supporting our cause by helping us in arranging the event in their premises and supporting us in this record attempt. Also, 3 independent witnesses were appointed to follow all the specific guidelines given by Guinness World Records.

The ground arrangements were made a couple of days earlier wherein, the ground had to be cordoned off on all sides with specific Entry & Exit Gates erected as per guidlines. There were 22 Blocks made on the ground to accommodate 50 students & 1 steward (Teachers) per block. At the same time Tr. Saurabh & Tr. Nishant took orientation class for all the students and teachers in which they briefed everyone about Round Table Nepal and the Record attempt. There were 4 video cameras installed to cover all the possible angles of the record attempt. On the day of the attempt, all students were made to enter the ground with wristbands and placards for the interactive lesson, and subsequently were made to sit in their specific blocks along with their respective stewards. The Entry took 45 minutes after which the guest were welcomed followed by the Lesson which lasted for 35 minutes. National President spoke about the event and facilitated the guests with momentos. The students were made to Exit in an orderly manner to finish the attempt which took about 20 minutes. Thus, the event lasted for around 2 hours.

The event was graced by RT International President Sebastian Walter, RT International Secretary Marc Germehausen, ASPA Chairman Jayant Agarwal, RTN Secretary Rahul Agrawal and other members of RT Nepal. The Evidences were then compiled and uploaded as per Specific Evidence Guidlines provided by Guinness which was a huge task in itself. The final set of evidences were submitted by Mid-December for final Approval. On 7th February all our efforts culminated into ROUND TABLE NEPAL making it officially into the Guinness Book of World Records for ‘The Largest Gender Equality Lesson’.
Kudos to the team effort of all involved!!
